Wednesday lineups: Twins/Mets

This had better be fast. Johan Santana is here, waiting to shave Bert’s head. Bert is due to arrive on the team bus any minute. I don’t want to miss that.
Update: Johan used his golden left arm to shave all but a fine layer of hair from Blyleven’s head. Santana kept laughing as he moved the clippers over his head, at one point yelling, “Circle me Bert!” Blyleven seemed to have a good time with it. He really doesn’t look that bad. … No huge news today. Bartlett is getting a day off to rest his sore neck, and with an open date tomorrow, that’ll be two days off heading into the Florida series. … I received an angry e-mail overnight from a reader who is sick and tired of Rondell White injury updates. But he’s had a few good days in Fort Myers, and it sounds like he’ll be ready for more game action (rehab game action, that is) soon. … Anyway, big start for Scott Baker tonight in the rubber game of this series.
