Carlos Silva was very short with his answers to reporters after the game. I couldn’t tell if he was frustrated with the decision to pull him after two innings or frustrated to have a strained right groin. Either way, it’s uncertain whether he’ll be able to make his next start.

Kevin Slowey was told before the game that he would start Sunday if he wasn’t needed today in relief. Now, the plan is to have him start Monday’s game against Texas. Slowey gave up two home runs today and has now given up 16 in 48 major league innings.

Scott Baker will make Sunday’s start. That was originally scheduled to be Boof Bonser, though he was pulled from the rotation today.

Justin Morneau dismissed the theory that a sore back might be affecting his swing, even though Manager Ron Gardenhire cited that as a reason for having Matthew LeCroy pinch hit for Morneau in the seventh inning, trailing 6-1. Morneau has one home run in his past 47 games.
