"Those teams were just a bunch of junk thrown together. Guys with a lot of holes in their game. Fielders who couldn’t hit."

Yeah,
Starting Punto and Span will solve that problem.

<i>Gomez looks like an early cut. </i>

Craig is the Jack Crab of baseball scouts. Whatever he says, do the opposite. Based on this, I pick Gomez as the everyday CF coming out of camp.

Can they please just cut ties with Punto. Please! I say keep gomez and casilla and let them grow. Learn and just run! If you want to keep punto as utility fine but I am sick of hearing him starting. Gardy he is not that good and if you keep treating him like a 'golden child' you will be looking for a new job. Sorry but it is true! Later

Nice to see Harris playing at SS. The Twins need to get him ready for more of a utility role. Eventually he could end up as the regular 3B, since they really don't have anyone else.

Lamb, Kubel, and Buscher are sort of redundant. DH types who really can't play in the field. One guy like that is enough. Zero is better.

Gomez looks like an early cut. Span and Pridie should compete up until the end of spring training. Span finished strong last season in AAA. He appears to have the inside track.

The Twins just can't seem to let go of Garrett Jones. Jones is a left-handed Michael Restovich, only less talented.

The Twins could use at least one more strong gloveman for the middle of the infield to back up Punto and Everett.

This team reminds me a little of some of the early to mid 1970's Twins teams. Those teams were just a bunch of junk thrown together. Guys with a lot of holes in their game. Hitters who couldn't field, Fielders who couldn't hit, Left hand hitters who couldn't hit left hand pitchers. Right hand hitters who couldn't hit the curve or slider. You get the picture.

This team has a way better bullpen than those early 1970's teams. The bullpen is the only strong point of this team.
