FORT MYERS — Carlos Gomez gets another start in center field today, and Delmon Young gets the coveted spot between the M&M Boys.

5. Brendan Harris, SS

7. Matt Macri, DH

8. Garrett Jones, RF

9. Alexi Casilla, 2B

Starting pitcher: LH Randy Keisler (Nick Blackburn, Carmen Cali, Brian Duensing, Kevin Mulvey, Juan Rincon, Oswaldo Sosa and Deolis Guerra are listed as potential relievers.)

RED SOX

3. J.D. Drew, RF

4. Sean Casey, 1B

5. Jeff Bailey, LF

Only 4 or 5 games will be on TV this spring, and this isn’t one of them. I’ll be listening on the radio though.

joe…any thoughts or comments on monroe…hopefully hes coming along and is a keeper…

Another reason to have Mauer bat 2nd…..you’ve got a better bat behind Gomez (assuming he gets the nod).

He’s only had a pitcher hitting behind him so far with the Mets.

KB,
Complete agreement on Gomez - Mauer.

I think when Cuddyer is in the lineup, he’ll be third and Young will go five.

Our 1-5 has the potential to be pretty solid.

Gomez
Mauer
Cuddyer
Morneau
Young

Fellas,

Last night’s game was on TV. Check out NESN (Boston’s sports network with Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy, they are some of the best in the biz). It is channel 623 on Directv. I just checked and tomorrow’s game is on at Noon Central, 1pm Eastern again on NESN.

Sure would be nice if Joe C or LEN3 reported ALL the games that are being televised instead of just the “local” broadcasts on FSN or WFTC Ch. 29.

Why Harris at SS and Alexi and 2b. It’s like Gardenhire is setting him up to fail so he can give the 2b jobs to his man slave Punto.

TwinsT,
IMO if Young bats ahead of Morneau he will get good pitches which he will crush. If he bats behind Morneau, they will pitch him outside the strike zone and he will chase bad pitches.
Cuddyer is more disciplined to cope with that situation.

mlb.tv had the nesn game on also…i got tired of remy etc and switched to audio with gordon and gladden …more informative to say the least…

My lineup is just going off some of Gardy’s comments. He mentioned something about needing a good hitter after Morneau when someone asked about Delmon…

TT,
If you agree with Gardy, you will definitely be more accurate at predicting the actual batting order.
My opinion is just my opinion.

Max, we didn’t know NESN was here until I ran into Jerry Remy in the bathroom. The broadcast wasn’t mentioned on the game notes.

And frankly, we had other things to worry about before the game. Since it was a night game, we had to stake out Gardy for pre-game notes so we could have something by first deadline.

Unless the information is presented to us, it’s not a priority to list ALL the games not on, `local,’ stations.

Keisler gives up a hit but no runs in the first.

In regards to the line-up, I’d rather have Cuddy between Mauer/Morneau, I think Young can fend for himself better not seeing prime pitches. Cuddy is more dependent on seeing good pitches. That’s just my opinion.

LV3 - is there anywhere to listen to audio for today’s game?

mj1 says:

March 1st, 2008 at 12:58 pm

pretty slow here today…thought there would be more interest during game….back to the vikes

TwinsTerritory says:

Gomez has played well the last two games. Finally got his first hit and steal which lead to a run.

Then Young nails a runner. We could have a pretty solid outfield defense with Young, Gomes and Cuddyer.

Joe, can you tell me why the Twins went with Keisler today?

mj1 says:

March 1st, 2008 at 12:59 pm
