A little late with the hook there, Gardy. It was nice while it lasted for Bass, but once it felt like "a game" again, he realized he was out over his skis a bit and served up the gopher balls. Why not bring in an experienced reliever when you cut the lead to one? Or at the very least, get Rincon up in the bottom of the sixth (Young and Kubel both batted after the second run scored) and bring him in at the first sign of trouble from Bass? (Like, when Torii's blast settled into the left field seats.) Sheesh. I realize hindsight is 20-20 and it looks so easy from here in the blogosphere, but that one seemed obvious before the inning started.
