Cuddyer should not be in the lineup at all due to the fact that he is only hitting .226 and no home runs. Denard Span should be the Twins Right Fielder because he hits for a much higher average than Cuddyer, is just as good of a fielder, and has tremendous base stealing ability. Cuddyer, who should not have been signed to a long term contract, should probably be sent to Rochester. He has the mentality of a little league player and is vastly over-rated as an outfielder.

With the Twins' luck baserunning the past few series, I wasn't sure how trigger happy they'd be on a single to try and score Gomez.

Quite frankly, I'm glad the inning went the way it did. There could've been some VERY ugly moments at home plate on a single by Lamb.

Gomez gets to essentially trot into home, no worried about a play and sliding and collisions. :)

Also, like I said last night...did anybody see the replay of Clark after he got his hit. He took off for first, then when he saw it get over the CFer's head he actually dropped his head and started running full out.

I think he forgot what inning it was. Because he rounded second and was halfway to third when somebody finally caught up to him for the celebration.

"can anybody also figure out why the OF was playing so shallow?"

I think it had something to do with the winning run (Gomez, the blur) being on 2nd base where a single will certainly score him UNLESS it is fielded within 200 ft. of home plate.

We score 7 runs and our 4-5 hitters Morneau and Cuddyer go 0 for 10. Great job by Korecky on the mound and getting that base hit. If I'm him, I hope I never get another big league at bat and finish my career at 1,000.
Boof would have won the game, had he not made a god awful throw on that double play ball in the 7th. How much longer will Rincon last? Howie Clark!
Who could have predicted that a week ago. Gotta love baseball.

Lamb -- .393 RISP. Walking him sets up the potential inning-ending DP with career journeyman Howie Clark at the plate. And even if he pitches to and retires Lamb, they're still playing shallow with two outs to keep Gomez from scoring on a single.

In other words, lay off Ron Washington. Classic second-guess.
