Agreed that Nathan should have pitched two innings yesterday, if not earlier in the week as well.

As far as the lineup debate goes, here's what I'd propose. Feel free to debate or discuss:

Go-Gomez
Mauer (let's face it, #3 hitter he ain't)
Young (maybe he just needs better hitting behind him)
Morneau
Cuddyer
Kubel / Monroe (keep this platoon)
Harris (take's the pressure off hitting)
Lamb / Punto (try out this platoon)
Casilla (adds a pirahna feel to it)

T,
Considering Hamilton's virtual disappearance from 2000 until 2007, it is not surprising that he was forgotten by a lot of people.

Thanks for the background sane. I guess my asking "Who is Hamilton?" is like asking "Anybody heard of the Beatles?" ;)

T,
"And where did this Hamilton guy come from? this guy seems to have just sprung up “overnight” this season."

Josh Hamilton was the MUMBER ONE OVERALL DRAFT CHOICE in 1999 by the Devil Rays. He was picked AHEAD of Josh Beckett who was still the best HS pitcher I have ever seen.

His career was sidetracked and he was suspended for substance abuse and did not play for three years 2003-2005.
He was picked bt the Reds in 2007 Rule V draft (in which many teams could have picked him if they would have taken the risk of keeping him on their MLB 25-man roster)
After a great year with the Reds in 2007, he was traded to the Rangers for pitcher Edison Volquez in a big talent-for-talent trade.

Craig, I hope you're wrong...though it looks more and more like that's what's happening.

They need to force somebody inbetween Mauer and Morneau. If Mauer gets on base as consistently as he does, then whoever hits next would likely get good pitching. Because they don't want to put two on for Morneau.

I have a feeling Gardy wants to do it...but is worried that it'd get real ugly in the lineup real quick. And there may be concern that if Morneau benefits from Mauer in front of him that it may throw Morneau off.

And that would be most not good.

Long story short, REAL glad I'm not in Gardy's shows at this point. I know what lineup I'd put together, but it's one of those that's a beauty in theory and likely a stinker in execution.

And where did this Hamilton guy come from? I try to follow other team's leagues...and this guy seems to have just sprung up "overnight" this season.

I don't think we're talking about Hamilton/Garza if Young was producing like he did with Tampa, but it'd be interesting to have some way of knowing how Hamilton would be doing in a Twins uni this year.
