Right now, no team has been eliminated yet. July will be different,

Kansas City, Colorado, and Seattle say, "Hi", with San Diego and San Francisco not far behind.

When he came up, Bartlett was praised for his "spunky" hitting. We saw some of it (on and off) in 2006, but his defense did not improve last year, nor was he hitting well. So he was traded, and good luck to him. It is possible he will become an accomplished SS (I doubt it) and even an all-star. This is baseball, and you never know how players you trade are going to develop (remember Ortiz, Knoblauch, Guzman, Milton?).

All of this talk about trades, releases, and whatnot is humorous. Baker won't return for a week, who knows what will happen in that time? 10 days ago, I'm sure, everyone was thinking Casilla would be sent back when Punto was ready, now no chance! Injuries can happen, and if they do, they will solve problems. Who knows when Everett will be ready to play, or Tolbert for that matter. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see one of the Twins' pitchers go on the DL before Baker is activated or Liriano is recalled.

As far as trades go, right now few teams are looking to make a deal. Two months from now will be a different story--by that time Livan's ERA might be 6.00 and Boof's might be under 4. It just is too soon to tell on most personnel decisions.

The Hawk,
I like Bartlett.
At the end of 2008, we may find out that 2007 was an aberration. (or not)
