kudos sid, Gardenhire can do whatever he wants as long as the Twins keep winning. Baseball, as professional sports in general, is supposed to be entertaining, and has become too pc over the last decade; pitchers are afraid to throw inside lest they hit a batter and are ejected, and hitters hang over the plate wearing all sorts of armor to protect themselves; the manager is one of the last vestiges of rawness in baseball and should be able to argue a call and stand up for his players, it's part of the game

I was shocked in the offseason when Smith traded Garza, Barlett, and Morlan for Young, Harris, and Pridie. All the hype subdued my resentment mommentarily, but looking at the numbers, Garza has emerged to be one of the best pitchers in the league, 14th in era, has the best stuff on the Rays staff, and is a big game pitcher, Barlett has improved defensively, and Morlan supposedly had the best stuff in the Twins system. Young, however, has been painful to watch, especially with men on base, he seems like a double play machine in important at-bats, and I almost prefer that he strike out and give the next guy a chance in clutch situations. His fielding is awful as well, compared to Span and Gomez, is almost comical. Granted, a softmore slump is common but in early interviews he said he wasn't concerned about his lack of production and that he was a very slow starter, waiting until the second half to get locked in. Well, for his sake and that of the Twins, I hope this is true, because right now he seems expendable.

"He (Gardy)should obtain some mental health therapy to help him with his anger management problem as soon as possible before his anger results in more dangersous situations for himself and others."

Garenhire seems to be a bully who tries to intimidate the umpires with his rages of screaming and kicking. The umpires are simply trying to do their job by maintaining order and enforcing baseball rules on the field. Gardenhire certain is the post boy for an adult baffoon and sets a real bad example for children who watch the baseball games.
