ANAHEIM — Alexi Casilla is back at second base, and back in the No. 2 spot for the Twins, as expected.
Updates to come…
Update (7:55 p.m.): As La Velle reported earlier, Brian Bass has accepted his assignment to Class AAA Rochester and was expected to be there tonight.
Delmon Young told Gardy his right ankle is good to go, so he’s back in left field again.
I noticed Casilla had success from both sides of the plate for Class A Beloit. He was 2-for-4 batting righthanded and 2-for3 batting lefthanded. Going in, he had talked about his thumb hurting when he swings lefthanded, but we’ll get a good look tonight against John Lackey.
Also, a group of reporters flocked to Torii Hunter’s locker, of course. He was animated as usual. I’ll have more on that for first edition. He lives in Newport Coast now, not far from Kobe.
