Neshek not expecting a 2008 return

ANAHEIM — Twins reliever Pat Neshek wrote on his blog today that while he continues to make progress with his injured right elbow, “I do not think a return this year is going to happen.”
Neshek has been out since May 8 with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was able to avoid Tommy John surgery, but as was originally predicted, he won’t factor into the Twins’ plans until spring training.
Things have been going great still and I haven’t had any problems but I am on the Really Really Slow plan. As I look ahead at the plan I do not think a return this year is going to happen. I feel like if I needed to pitch I could pull it off but the safe sure route is to take it slow and gradually get better and this is the route that we are taking.
I don’t mind it but it is extra tough sitting in FL watching the team in a playoff race. I’m jealous and I wish I was with them. So for right now we are going to follow the plan that is laid out and see where I am in the next two months.
If things are fine I’m sure I will be playing a little winter ball someplace…if things go bad then I might need surgery. Right now things have been going perfect.
Also, Pat writes about surviving Tropical Storm Fay down in Florida. He’s hosting a live chat on his site tonight at 7 p.m. (Central).

They need to make a deal for a reliever a.s.a.p. or forget about the playoffs.
Go Pat! It will be nice to see him in a Twins uniform next year! (hopefully he recovers)
pg, how is this deal going to take place. Please explain it to me. I don’t understand how that deal can happen without giving other teams a shot at getting the player first thru waivers.
I just don’t understand how this deal is going to happen.
The Twins want Eddie… not sure he would land to them.
I’m better than Pat anyways. F him.
I’m glad they didn’t try to rush him back like Liriano but if it just needs rest then shut him down completely and if he needs surgery then just do it now.
My personal opinion is that Pat Nesheks absence has been a net minus for the team this year.
Has anyone considered that with Pat on the roster, the bullpen might be better than it has been?

That’s not even a funny joke. There’s nothing wrong with Crain but he’s not better than Neshek.
I just hope they are right and he doesn’t need surgwery or he may be out of baseball for another year. Hey BC at the fair this year they are having bacon and chocolate syrup on a stick. What do you think of that combo?
Adding a relief pitcher would help, but I think the real solution is for our existing guys to step up their performance. If they can continue to perform like the have in the past few games, I think we’ll be OK. The best we can hope for in an acquisition at this point is someone like Guardado, who would essentially be as effective as someone like Craig Breslow — certainly nice to have around but not going to be the magic bullet that turns things completely around for the Twins.
2 animalls they like in Cali are Monkeys and roosters. The Angels have the monkey so now it’s time for the Dodger’s to have the rally Rooster
jimmy what happend did they run out of deep fried grizzle? I’ll bet the Minnesota women are just wolfing that crap down huh.
BC they loath the gristle

Your joking right?
jimmy i just looked at how i spelled it. lol
BC isn’t Eddy having arm problems but is still pitching anyways?
They gargle with mouth fulls of gristle

David Weathers cleared waivers … I know he has a high whip but his era has been 2.52 since June.
Also, anyone see that Melvin Mora has cleared waivers. He might not be the same defensively as Beltre, but I would rather have Mora’s offense than Beltre’s. Mora hitting .284, 21 HRS, and 95 RBI.
BC of ND, no, I am not joking. I really believe the bullpen would be better if Neshek were in it. But thats just my humble opinion.
Kevin the reason i asked is because almost every fan knows how important Neshek was if not then they don’t really follow the Twins.
jimmy steady eddie isn’t so steady anymore. How nice would it be to see the Twins or Chi sox knock the Redsox out of the playoffs as well?
Remaining(as of Aug. 21) average records for the Twins remaining opponents is 63 - 63, while the ChiSox remaining foes sport and average record of 66 - 60. Twins have 12 HOME and 24 ROAD games left, while the ChiSox have 16 HOME and 19 ROAD games left. However the Big Series between the 2 will be right here in MN on Aug 23 - 25!! Lets hope it means something!!! Unless of course Chicago has a nice long losing streak!!
I mean no Yankess,Tigers or Red Sox = a very happy BC but not the MLB execs i’m sure.
OK BC, I give, I was being sarcastic.

Gosh,,, I don’t know, the current bull pen has been the one in place that got this team to its current record, the one that has been on this team that is 8-2 in the last 10 games, and 20-12 in the last month. hmmm….nope can’t quite think of a single reason to mess with a team on that kind of a month long streak,,,, ummthat’s a .625 winning percentage in the last month. Boy, if every aspect of this team including the abilities of the management knowing what and what NOT to do isn’t made known by its record…., it is clear some people will always want to find a way to show they know more. You don’t mess with a team on a 62% winning streak in the last month, 62% means everything is working the way it should.
We don’t need him, we got Goof-Boof.
