Gardy said they missed the play at SS and that cost the game. He maybe didn’t name a specific player, but I don’t know who else was playing SS.

LVD: Absolutely it would be beneficial. Punto is a far better 3B than he is a SS. I was shocked that Ichiro didn’t lay one down in front of Buscher.

What’s funny is at the time I was concerned more about Bucher’s defense at 3rd vs. Punto at SS.

And looking at the play…my faith in Everett’s arm/shoulder leaves me wondering if he’s able to even make the throw after he gets the ball.

I do NOT like Everett’s arm. I get chills every time he has to make a throw in a tight situation. Watched one to many supposedly easy throws one hop into the 1Bs glove (or in some cases past it)

I haven’t read through all of the posts, but from what I can see is that I am not the only one who feels the Twins/Punto made a philosophical mistake in the 9th inning.

I’ll admit that I didn’t see the play, I went to bed after the 8th and listened to the remainder of the game on the radio.

In that situation, the proper play is at home.

vs.

“Kubel non-chalanted it. No excuses”

Quote 1, not throwing a specific player under the bus. Quote 2, specifically throwing a player under the bus.

After complimenting the pen, Skipper threw his little buddy under the bus. Blamed him for the loss.

i think its ironic the twins make a move to make there bullpen better. and the one guy who has been lights out in are bullpen (nathan) blows the save and surprise surprise crain takes the loss. adding guys to the pen isnt gonna make crain, gurrier pitch better. gardy needs to have a meeting, and tell these bullpen scrubs to start doing something now. i just find it funny that people think getting another arm in the bullpen is gonna help but how is it suppose to help when the other guys arent performing? “hardwork beats talent when talent doesnt work hard” it looks like crain has all the talent in the world but just doesnt work hard enough to get his pitches where they should be.
