And now for something a little different

Not sure if you’ve seen this before, but a buddy sent it to me last week. I was waiting for the right time to post it.

Let’s see, the Twins are 5-8 on this trip and the eight losses have come by a combined 12 runs. Seems like a good time for a little diversion. (Yes we miss BatGirl, but long live the Batting Stance Guy.)

click on the Batting Stance Guy link. This was out there a couple of months ago, and it’s absolutely hilarious. this guy was at the Dome and was on the FSN pre-game show about a month ago.

Title should have been: “And now here’s something we home you’ll really like!”

the 2008 all star starting lineup batting stances is great too…Mauers is more detailed, Arods “pre swing” is funny and pedroia to end it is hilarious…
this was posted on randball and a commenter added in the all star lineup

Gleeman posted that a couple months ago. Gagne’s is spot on, but the Hrbek bit is great.

Ron Gardenhire is very confused. He thinks his job is to change the lineup all the time. It doesn’t give the players a chance to settle in and improve with confidence like they should. They say he puts multiple players at many different positions to get them ready for Pohlad to trade for more money. Gardenhire is the acting director of the best farm club team in the major leagues: that being the Twins, who provide alot of team with quality players developed in the Twins organization. Keep up the good work Gardehire. They really like you on the coasts.

That is so great! Every time the Twins lose a game like last night I’m going to watch this video to cheer me up. He should be hired for weddings and corporate parties. All the stances are bang on except Knoblauch would lower his bat a little more on an even plain.

Joe C: Have you told any of the Twins players past or present about the video? I’m sure that would bring a ton of laughs on the plane or bus. Hrbek’s are classic.

When is Mr. Gardenhire going to lose some of the extra weight he is carrying around. It is not good for his health. He must be about 300 pounds overweight. He actually seems to be getting fatter everyday. Why doesn’t he excercise? Is he really lazy or what? The Twins organization should take some concern about his health. He often gets extremely upset and could have a heart attack because he is obiese. His over-eating could be a result of stress from his job as manager of the Twins. His embarrassing displays of anger are childish and result from his inability to deal with the frustrations of his work, just like his over-eating does. The more weight he gains, the more frustrated he becomes, and the more often he gets grossly mad at the umpires. He could become dangerous to himself and others as a result of his obiesity. Mr. Gardenhire definately needs professional help with his anger management stemming from his frustration which lead to over-eating.

Most of the times that the Twins lose I usually put this little patriotic number on to cheer up..

“is that you romer? batting stance guy?”

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I’m an old fart.

And the only batting stance I really know well is Beltre’s…….and Greg Counsell’s (sp) who looks like he’s trying to literally hit Beltre.

Which reminds me….it’s been a month, think I’ll check Beltre’s stats.

romer says:

Yup, his stats are still there. He’s batting .296 the last 30 days.

Thanks Joe. I would have liked to see him with Tony O and Harmon swings, but it’s a nice collection. For Knoblauch he needed to have batting gloves to do/undo about 20 times before each pitch.

Best case scenario.
Gardy loses his temper and strangles Jack, before he writes another stupid post.

Without a doubt, the meek hitting Twins really got hammered by the powerful Blue Jay team. Maybe the Twins aren’t nearly as good as they think they are. Gardenhire certainly doesn’t help the team win games with his prolific use of second string players and constant shuffling of the lineup. He is a very confused manager who can’t stand to have his A team playing regularly. Gardenhire would be a good minor league coach than a major league manager.

I think Dan Gladden would be an excellent Manager of the Twins. He is very knowledgable about baseball and has the decisivenss and toughness to get the best performance out of the players. Gardenhire is a poor manager because he always puts bench players in the lineup and has a habit of manipulating the Twins lineup for no good reason. Gardenhire doesn’t instill the toughness in the players that is necessary to be competitive at the major league level. Gardenhire also is lazy and always makes excuses for the Twins losing. Dan Gladden could be one of the best managers in all of baseball. He is a natural leader and teacher of baseball. Also, when he played, he was a far better ballplayer than Gardenhire ever thought of being. GLADDEN FOR MANAGER OF THE TWINS IN 2009!

Great idea to have Gladden manage. Then we can get John Gordon to be bench coach, or something, and get some fluid, accurate play-by-play announcers for radio games. Start with Jack Morris and build around him!

Wow.

I go out with the guy for drinks on his birthday and send him golden blog fodder, then I get relegated to this:

“… a buddy sent it to me …”

A “buddy?”

That hurts, Joey. It hurts.
