Too late. Last year was the time for an upgrade. Obviously, ANY signing that could've gotten ONE MORE WIN would've gotten the Twins into the playoffs (as i SAID last year over and over to no avail). The Indians and White Sox will battle for the division and the Tigers will NOT have that fluke horrible year. The Twins will battle for 3rd or 4th place when two SP's and two RP's go down (as usual). KC might have a better year. Opportunity lost. I'll type back later this year to say, "Told ye so," for the ga-zillionth time. Gimme the GM job, Lmao!

Quit thinking like Smith. A patheic GM when we gave the Twins a new ball park and Pohlads promised if done to be a contender and spend $25 mil to make team better.

Did Pohlads lie?
They have the money to make payroll $85
mil, which is needed to be a contender
now and when new Target Center opens next season.

You are not a contender or a strong team
wwith the minor league infield we now have.
Something MUST be done!
The other teams have made big improvements, spending.

What must be done now!

Trade a pitcher to Milwaukee for HARDY.

Trade Young for Street.

Sign Dunn for Of/DH

Trade for Adkins at third. Offer pitching and Cuddyher.

or,,,take Tejada( SS 3b) off Houstons hands and pay 1/3 his salary of $10 mil
than install him at third and Hardy at SS with Dunn in OF...
This will add power finally and will move us out of last place in HRS hit
in AL.

Andruw Jones will be leaving Los Angeles on Thursday.

In a prearranged deal done about two weeks ago, Jones and the Dodgers agreed to a separation Jan. 15 for the center fielder. If the team isn't able to trade him (and there's no reason to think they will be able to do it in the next 24 hours), the Dodgers will give Jones his release.

As stipulated in the agreement, Jones agreed to defer all but $5 million of his $22 million salary in 2009 in exchange for his freedom. It's believed that if he can find a taker willing to pay $1-to-2 million, the move is expected to turn into basically a financial wash for Jones, who knew his time was up in L.A.
