The Twins just announced that they have signed Jason Kubel to a two-year contract with an option for 2011. They agreed to the terms last week and were simply awaiting the results of a physical.

Update: The deal is worth $7.2 million. Kubel will make $2.75 million this year, $4.1 million in 2010, and his 2011 salary would be $5.1 million, with a $350,000 buyout.

The Twins avoided arbitration with Kubel, so their lone remaining arbitation-eligible player is Matt Guerrier.
