BRADENTON, FLA. — Nick Punto will have more X-rays taken on his right elbow today after getting hit with a pitch in the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday.

Punto had X-rays taken after Italy’s game in Toronto. Those came back negative, but the swelling has returned.

Nonetheless, Punto said he had an excellent time playing in the WBC, even better than he expected.

If we get any updates on Mauer today, we’ll pass them along.
