Postgame update: Redmond, Young, Nathan

Manager Ron Gardenhire said catcher Mike Redmond convinced him he was ready to start Thursday’s series finale against Seattle, injured right groin and all.
Also, Gardenhire indicated Delmon Young would be back in the lineup after sitting two of the first three games of the series. That actually came in response to a question about how difficult Denard Span is making it to sit him, batting .444 with a .583 on-base percentage and tonight’s two-run bomb.
“Denard [Span’s] playing very well right now, as the leadoff hitter, but it’s really hard for me to sit anybody,” Gardenhire said. “I hate seeing Delmon sitting on the bench next to me. He’ll play tomorrow.”
Joe Nathan notched his 200th save as a Twin tonight. Gardenhire presented him with the ball after the game. That’s 201 career saves for Nathan, who had one for the Giants.
Reusse was here, and he’ll have more on Kevin Slowey in his column.
Check back here around mid-morning for Thursday’s starting lineups. First pitch: 12:10 p.m.
