BOSTON — Philip Humber has cleared waivers, and the Twins just assigned him outright to Class AAA Rochester, a team spokesman said.

Humber, 26, likely will go back into Rochester’s starting rotation. He was out of minor-league options and made the Twins’ Opening Day roster but posted a 12.46 ERA in four appearances.
