Tuesday lineups: Twins vs. Red Sox

BOSTON — Jose Mijares is here. In fact, he was on the field, running in the rain a couple hours ago.
Mijares said he has dropped five pounds. He said he’s been working hard, and he’s ready to step into a late-inning role. Manager Ron Gardenhire said he won’t hesitate to use him in that role, either, especially now with Jesse Crain on the DL.
The teams are not taking batting practice on the field. It’s raining hard right now, but most people here are pretty optimistic they’ll play tonight.
Joe Mauer went 2-for-4 with a walk today in an extended spring training game in Fort Myers, Fla. He was the DH today and will catch again tomorrow.
Update (5:35 p.m., CST): It has been raining on and off for a while now, and now it has stopped again. The tarp is still on the field, though. They have given us no official word, but I would be surprised if this game started on time. Stay tuned…
Update (5:50 p.m.): The Red Sox said the game is officially delayed with more information to come. It’s raining pretty hard again. It’s worth noting that both the Twins and Red Sox are off Thursday, so this would be easily rescheduled even though this is the Twins’ only trip to Boston this season.
Update (6 p.m.): It’s pouring here, folks. I’ve gone from optimistic to pessimistic about getting this game in. The radar doesn’t look pretty.
