SEATTLE — Manager Ron Gardenhire waited to post his lineup today, making sure Joe Crede and Michael Cuddyer were good to go. And they are, as the Twins get ready to face another tough lefthander, in Seattle’s Erik Bedard, who ranks fourth in the American League with a 2.37 ERA.

Cuddyer is playing first base, giving Justin Morneau a chance to DH.

Update: Gardenhire said Glen Perkins’ next rehab start is Tuesday for Class A Fort Myers, and while the Twins would like to see better results this time, Perkins (elbow inflammation) will likely be activated from the DL in time for his next outing, as long as he’s healthy.

(*) Nick Punto (sore groin) will be activated from the DL on Friday. It’s easy to speculate about who will be sent down for these moves – Matt Tolbert for Punto, Anthony Swarzak for Perkins — but a lot can change depending on injuries.

(*) Gardenhire said he continues to wish the Twins could carry a third catcher, adding Jose Morales, but it probably won’t happen because they feel they need 12 pitchers.
