OAKLAND, CALIF. — The Twins optioned second baseman Alexi Casilla to Class AAA Rochester after today’s 4-3 loss to Oakland, and activated Nick Punto from the disabled list.

The clubhouse was very quiet, as Manager Ron Gardenhire and the players called it a very tough loss. Michael Cuddyer said in hindsight, he obviously should have taken the safe route and held Jack Hannahan to a single. Cuddyer said he dove because he thought he could catch it.
