Joe Crede is back in the lineup at designated hitter, as the Twins get ready to face Mark Buehrle, in his first start since throwing a perfect game.

Updates to come…

Update: Manager Ron Gardenhire has the flu and was unable to meet with the media before the game. Third base coach Scott Ullger said Gardy hopes to be on the bench for the game.

(*) Ullger said the Twins hope Crede can return to third base on Wednesday, depending on how he feels tonight.

(*) White Sox slugger Jim Thome is out with a sore back, and he likely won’t play Wednesday either, with the Twins throwing lefthander Francisco Liriano.

(*) The Twins plan to have Mark Grudzielanek join Class AA New Britain in time for Friday’s game, GM Bill Smith said. Grudzielanek went 1-for-3 today and played second base in a Gulf Coast League game.
