From the Metrodome: Twins/Tigers
Posted on September 20th, 2009 – 11:14 AMBy Joe Christensen
By today’s end, the Twins will be trailing the Tigers by either one game or three games with 13 games remaining, including four head-to-head.
That’s what’s at stake here as the Twins go for a three-game sweep and try to extend their season-long winning streak to seven games. Obviously a huge start for Scott Baker, who has a 9.58 ERA this season in two starts against the Tigers.
Before the game, Manager Ron Gardenhire said Joe Crede is scheduled to have another back surgery — Crede’s third back surgery in three years — so he is officially done for the season.
