Saturday update: Back on the brink

I’m writing this from somewhere high above Michigan. This flight has Wi-Fi service, and I’m loving it.
The Twins are holding a workout at the Metrodome at 10 a.m. With La Velle, Souhan and I making our way back from New York, Strib baseball editor extraordinaire Dennis Brackin is covering for us, until we’re back in position.
I hope to be back on the ground in time to catch Manager Ron Gardenhire’s press conference, after the workout. If we get updates on Matt Tolbert’s strained oblique muscle, Joe Mauer’s general soreness, etc., we’ll post them here.
The Twins are back on the verge of elimination, much like they were for their final five regular season games. Granted, they weren’t playing this Yankee juggernaut then, but surviving last week taught this team that anything’s possible. More later on what they’re saying from the Dome.
