Fun on One Horsepower

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

So your wife loves cars, joins you at car shows, talks performance mods at the dinner table, and has her home page set to Hemmings rather than Home & Garden TV. You’re either really lucky or terrible at fibbing.

Hmm, just some dirt and grass and horses and stuff out here. Maybe if I look at the engine in our Golf, I’ll get some performance ideas.

Since she likely doesn’t view the world through a hood scoop, she probably has some other interests–ones harmony (not the town with good pies) would suggest you periodically attend to.

She does love horsepower, if one at a time. Tie, the mare, mainly loves horse treats and knows this camera isn’t one.

My wife is pretty indulgent of all this car stuff and genuinely loves the Goodwood Festival of Speed. In return, I try to get out to Triple S ranch once in a while and spend an afternoon with her while she pampers the true (equestrian) love of her life, her Morgan mare. So that’s where I’m thinking about cars today–at a barn in Inver Grove Heights.

Everything’s beautiful viewed from the right perspective. And you can tell if you’re low on washer fluid.

Look from the right angle and you can take in enough horses to equal a Model T.
