Kris Palmer is a lifelong auto junky and wrenchturner, who embarked on this path as a youth by taking apart parents’ and friends’ cars with the improbable confidence that it would all go together again. Do it long enough, listen to others with different and better knowledge, and soak up what gurus and good manuals have to say, and most of the time it does.

He has written on cars for a decade, edited over 100 car books, and authored two so far, The Fast and the Furious: The Official Car Guide, and Dream Garages. The latter features vehicles and garages from the U.S., England and Italy, and was a 2006 bestseller for Motorbooks, the world’s largest car book publisher. His current book project is on unrestored cars.
