Check It Out

I would like to take this opportunity to formally and sincerely apologize to anyone who was pregnant last summer and seeking prenatal reading material from the library. Because, you see, I am the culprit.

I am the one who had 27 pregnancy/baby related books checked out at any given time. I renewed repeatedly and without remorse. I was an information junkie, a devout devourer of all things pertaining to pregnancy. From “Knocked Up – Who’s There?” to “One Billion and One Best Baby Names” I had them all.

I know many of you have probably already heard of this program. But to make amends for my hoarding ways I feel obligated to pass on the following information to you all. It is the Museum Adventure Pass. When I first heard of this deal, I thought “This is too good to be true.” But it is indeed true. What you do is go to any local library (see list on site) and use your library card to check out a pass good for 4 admissions to one of many museums. The only catch is they are available on a first-come first served basis at each library branch. Some of the more popular ones (Minnesota Zoo and MN Landscape Arboretum) are likely to be checked out.

And no, I’m not just writing about this because our employer is one of the media sponsors of this program. I’m writing about it because I am a proud card carrying member of the library and any incentive that encourages people to go in to their local branch is fab. (even though I have to share)
