Kara McGuire and I got to talking last week. We both love our blogs (Kara writes Ka-Blog!) and the communities that have sprung up around them (that’s you!). But we also wondered: What is it about blogs that inspires a small subset of people to discard all inhibitions and say things to other people that they would never dream of saying to their faces? How do some topics veer off into occasionally otherworldly realms?

We decided to ask fellow bloggers and media types - Ada Calhoun from Babble, Peter Hartlaub of The Poop, Nanci Olesen of MOMbo and the mother-daughter team of Marti and Erin Erickson on Good Enough Moms — with the ever-perceptive Kay Krhin weighing in behind the scenes….
