Blizzard Babies?

Awhile back, I received an e-mail newsletter from babycenter.com that mentioned this piece of trivia. “Fewer babies are born in November than any other month”. Yet, I keep meeting pregnant women who are due exactly the same time as I am: mid-November. There must be something to this….

When I took my pregnancy test back on St. Patty’s Day and the “+” sign showed up -  I had to do a little calendar consulting. Inevitably one of the first questions my OB would ask “What was the first day of your last cycle?” I was able to pinpoint that day. But hmmm….when would these sleep-deprived-groggy parents of a toddler have possibly had the inclination or the opportunity? I enlisted the help of Cribsheet to assist me. What was going on in my life around that time? Ah yes….. HERE was the answer

So, I’m due in mid-November and I have Paul Douglas and Ore Ida to thank for it! Mr. Douglas, because he said something along the lines of “Stay home, don’t travel unless absolutely necessary.”  Tater Tot Hot Dish - Well, who knew the aphrodisiacal powers of the almighty Tot?tatertot_1.jpg

Dear Ore-Ida, I have a new slogan for you.

“Tater Tot - The Minnesota Oyster”

So, is it just me? Are all of these other women I’m meeting due in mid-November just a complete coincidence? Or should we do our part to alert the area hospitals to start staffing up - pronto!?

(I just checked around and the Denver area is gearing up for a September baby boom after all of their December storms).

How many other “Blizzard Babies” are out there? Are you or someone you know due in mid-November? Raise your hand!
