In the Bag

We have heard from many Cribsheeters with impending births in the next few weeks/months, myself included. Made me think - what did you pack in your hospital bag? What didn’t you need? What did you wish you had? What was something you were glad you packed ?
Last time -I became super crazy nesting type A. I had compiled a 3-ring binder filled with notes from and tips from birthing class. I also 3 hole punched and filled it with all of my insurance paperwork, family leave forms, phone #’s - including a check off list on who had been called and who we left a message with.
All the notes from class went un-read. I was however, very glad to have all of the paperwork, forms and #’s organized in one place. I also packed my own mix for a labor cd which later became a meaningful lullaby cd on continuous heavy rotation in the nursery.
Here’s one thing I most certainly wouldn’t purchase or pack. (May forwarded this link to me) Get this. A $55 skirt to wear during labor & delivery! The most humbling-discretion-goes-out-the-window-bodily-fluids-you-didn’t-even-know existed-filled time of your life. Save the money for diapers. Ruin the hospital gown instead of this.
Here’s a recommended list from babycenter.
What do YOU recommend?
