Cornucopia of Comparisons
Posted on October 29th, 2007 – 9:23 AMBy Kay Krhin
I’ve written about this topic before, but the produce was much lighter and portable at the time. Ah the days of my unborn baby being compared to a small kumquat or a strawberry are long gone. * sigh *
When I got to work this morning there was my weekly babycenter e-mail update with this weeks comparison of my child to an obscure fruit or vegetable. I have now apparently moved into the melon and leafy greens aisle of the produce department. I believe it. In fact, this morning I had to wake up hubby to help me put socks on the feet I could not see.
Last week (wk 36) I was a crenshaw melon. A whah? Had to google image that one.
Here is a crenshaw melon folks:
Now @ week 37 we’ve moved on to Swiss chard (again, not something that’s at the top of my grocery list).
I cheated and looked ahead in their weekly e-mails for what is to come - next my baby is a leek (wk 38), then (wk 39) small watermelon (try LARGE) and then (week 40) is a Pumpkin.
Oh my gourd!
