Undecided

Today Cribsheet reader, Katy, poses a few questions to all of you concerning family size and how do you decide?

I can’t remember if this topic has been discussed before, but I am deep in the throes of an existential crisis:  Trying to decide what is the ideal size for our family.  All during pregnancy #2, I swore up and down that I was done done DONE…but now she is 9 months old and I’m really questioning it.  There’s all the logic about not being able to afford it, being 39 years old already, and a million other reasons…but my heart is really tugging me.  I feel like I would feel more secure with three than with two…it just seems to add stability to a family.  But would the stress and logistical challenges make up for that…?

I guess I’m wondering how people make this decision.

Has anyone really had their minds made up (one way or the other) and then changed it later?

Did they ever regret the decision they made?

Are people out there making lists of pros and cons, or are they just going with their guts?
