Parenting from the Left Side of the Brain

What happens when scientists multiply and become parents? Their inquisitive minds start whirring. Why do babies cry? How do babies brains develop? What about gender differences? This article appeared in last week’s Source discusses these questions and more.
This article reminded me of some things I was wondering after having a baby. What is it like for those who work in child related professions once they have a baby?
Things like : What is pregnancy and delivery like for a mid-wife or OB/GYN? Do you know too much? Do you have a new perspective or empathy once you’ve gone through it yourself? How about the anethesiologist getting an epidural - do you have any say in your spinal cocktail recipe or worry about a steady hand even more? How about the pediatrician or daycare provider raising a toddler? Do you start dealing with the children you care for in a different manner?
Anyone out there in a similar or child related profession who can provide insights?
