I went to school with a girl named Tinkerbell. She now calls herself just Belle.

But I guess that doesn’t come close to the kids tracked down by the authors of a new book “Bad Baby Names: The worst true names parents saddled their kids with and you can too!” The authors’ goal: to find if the kids had been affected in any way by living life known as Ogre, Post Office, Please Cope, Mary Christmas or Cash Guy. Not forgeting Ghoul, Hades and Medusa. They found that not only were the adults untraumatized by their names, they ended up quite proud to have names that stood out.

Here’s a recent story in the New York Times by John Tierney, who just for the occasion, used his middle-name: Marion.
