Meltdown Management

“Okay,” said one mom to another as they chased their preschoolers around the ant farm at the Children’s Museum. “There’s going to be a meltdown so let’s just scoop them up and go.”
That was yesterday while I was standing close by with my little ones, plotting our own exit. I understood completely.
Well, here’s an article in today’s paper about how the popular St. Paul museum has started stationing meltdown managers around the building, bubble blowers at the ready. Anything to calm child and parent down when things start spiraling out of control.
