Father’s Day

Walking around the big box or department stores you see the Father’s Day gifts lumped in a special end cap or floor room display. There they are: your token coffee commuter carafe, tire pressure gauge, or grilling & golfing gadgets. Or the new one I’ve seen is the pleather charging station for your cell phone, camera and i-pod. (Which I actually kind of like).

They are all about $10 in a box that screams – “I pulled your uninspired $10 gift off of a shelf.”

And you rarely see Father’s Day Brunch advertised.  I guess the word brunch is so not masculine.

Then to add insult there are the insults. I saw this article on Father’s Day cards awhile back in the Strib.

C’mon. Let’s give pop his proper props for all he does. This is his day!

What are you doing for Father’s Day?

Dad’s - what do think is a good gift?

Mom’s what are you giving?
