A Moms Club Nobody Wants to Join

Cried on the way in to work today listening to this piece on the radio about a group of moms who meet each week at Arlington cemetery. Each one has a son who died in Iraq and Afghanistan.
One mother talked about how family celebrations - a nephew’s new baby, a niece’s wedding - are all colored by the loss. All she wants is for her son to be there too.
“Our job is to protect our kids,” said another mom. “I feel like I should have jumped across the ocean and helped him and known he was in trouble.”
Part 2 is on tomorrow.
