State Fair State of Mind

Opening day - the grease is fresh! Hurry, time to get out to the State Fair pronto! My head is being carved in butter as we speak. No, that’s another Princess Kay.  Here are some random State Fair/kid-friendly related bits for you today.

We’ve told you about Free Bike Helmets at the Fair.  Next, we recently got a note from Giggles’ Campfire Grill located in the “North Woods” area of the Fair. They wanted to let Cribsheeters know that they are “offering something else for families watching their wallets but wanting a good meal at the fair, a satisfying kid’s meal for $1.50. The $1.50 Kid’s Meal Deal boasts three large chicken nuggets, a bag of mini-carrots, and dessert (choice of raspberry sorbet or a cookie) “

And of course I have to give a shout out to our friends at the Star Tribune booth located at the base of the Grandstand. They’ll be handing out ice cream scoopers,  the requisite wet naps, and a wealth of advice on where to find your favorite foods at the Fair.

For you preggos out there: Here is a link to a slightly State Fair related post I did last summer about those weekly Babycenter.com e-mails you get comparing your growing baby to obscure produce. That’s not a grocery list that’s our baby!

So how about it Cribsheeters - I’m opening the thread to random State Fair related musings. What are your favorite must-see spots/eats? Where do your kids like to go? How do you handle a day at the Fair with kids in tow?
