Totally off topic for a parenting blog - but I have a hunch there were a few Cribsheeters with crushes on those boys from Boston back in the day.
You can read Chris Riemenschneider’s review of last nights concert here.
I have a distant connection to those guys with the right stuff baby. In another lifetime long long ago (college) I worked for the student run concert promoter at the University of Iowa. (ps. don’t hate me because I’m a Hawkeye - especially you Wisconsin Badger folks)
Anyway - the New Kids were the last big show I was involved with way back in the summer of 1990. Our organization did everything from promotion, advertising to production work backstage. I was 21 so, a bit past their demographic to swoon. But here are some memories…
-The New Kids rode in the backseat of my enormous 1982 Buick Electra to go play baseball before the concert,
-Their manager named “Biscuit” gave me 10 bucks drive to some new store called Target to buy Joey (or was it Jordan?) a jockstrap (sz M) cause he wore tight pants
-After the show they took their clothes and threw them away in their dressing room trash and squirted ketchup all over them.
That’s all - if you went to the show last night - hope you aren’t Hangin Tough today.
