A moment of levity

What does one write after a very sad post? Everything else seems trivial.
I was going through my pictures from Christmas and found this one. I snapped it after Ben found Grandpa’s reading glass.
Being a big “Sid the Science Kid” fan - he absolutely loved it.

And it makes me smile. Hope it makes you smile too.

I love the picture. I used to volunteer at the Science Museum in the dino and fossils hall, and loved giving little kids the magnifying glasses to look at our fossils with. They were always fascinated by how different everything looks through the glass, and I was always amused at how cute they look with the glass up to their faces.

You are right ~ It IS hard to follow up a sad post with something *fitting*?? if that’s the right word?? But this picture is perfect. It shows us to stop and take a second to look around - see the world thru the eyes of the little ones around us - the sense of wonder, the beauty in the everyday. Something I for one will be concentrating on in the New Year.

Our “sleeper gift” of the season was a spy kit which my children have clung on to. I’ve been setting up missions for them all over the house and it has made for great fun. You never know what toy will take off.

And this is a nice way to transition from the last post. I had never heard of this great woman before and the post had me crying.

Sometimes I think I need to start a second blog so that I have one for the sad stuff and one for the cute/funny, and then I realize my life is both, why shouldn’t my blog be?

This is very cute, and Sid the Science Kid is a huge hit in our house too. The 4 year old loves him.
