A pregnant woman from Uganda on a plane from Amsterdam to Boston gave birth to a baby girl on the way. Customs officials declared the girl Canadian because she was born over Canadian airspace.

As with so many headline-grabbing stories, there’s a Minnesota connection. A Minneapolis physician, Dr. Natarajan Raman, was one of two doctors on board who delivered the baby….

Lucky baby. A great birth story, plus Canadian citizenship!!! Such fantastic benefits for life . . . health care, university, pension.

I wish they had said how many weeks pregnant she was. One is left to guess that she flew at nearly term.
