Zoe: Mommy, is Barack Obama president yet?

Me: No, Zoe, not till next Tuesday. That’s his inauguration when he makes a speech, and uh, lots of other things. Parties and things.

Zoe: Are we going?

Me: Oh. I wish we were. It’s in Washington….and no, we’ll watch it on TV.

Zoe: Why aren’t we going?

Me: Because lots of people want to go. Lots and lots and there isn’t enough space.

Zoe: So just a few people are going?

Me: No, lots are going, but there are lots more people in the world who can’t. Because, you know, there are lots of people in the world.

Zoe: I knew that. I saw lots of houses on the street.
