From Cribsheet’s inbox from Darcie Gust…

Many of you know of my friend Matt who lost his wife last March just 27 hours after giving birth to their first daughter Madeline - This has really opened my eyes to life and is helping me to stop sweating the small stuff - like the 10 pm bedtimes for my much-too-young children!!  I’m not there yet, but I’m trying…harder than ever before!

It’s been a tough year for Matt, but a lot of good has sprung from this tragedy…

I have had the opportunity to be a part of launching the non-profit organization in the name of his late wife Liz - The Liz Logelin Foundation - For the Love of Liz.  It has been an incredible journey and one I am proud to be a part of it.

Matt was recently featured in People Magazine and today he will appear on the Rachael Ray Show!  It’s been fun to see his pics of Maddy with Salma Hayek who was also on the show with them - Please set your Tivo’s and your VCR’s and catch Matt at 2pm on Channel 11.

Last weekend we launched our first 7 on the 7th campaign - The #7 was Liz’s favorite number and we thought it was an easy way for people to help out other families in need for the cost of a large latte or a lunch out…

It was a great success and because of the generosity of many many people, we will be able to help other families who find themselves in this same unthinkable position. 

As the one year mark approaches for Maddy’s first birthday on March 24th and the 1 year mark of Liz’s death on March 25th, we are hoping to do an $24/24th campaign or a $25/25th campaign for those who wish to donate a little more.

Please think about donating if you can.  No amount of money will bring Maddy’s mom back…but the money raised will be helping out other people in this situation who have not been as fortunate as Matt and Maddy.
