Dee Depass, our fitness columnist, has a good one today about exercises you can do while your kid is playing - 10 Ways to Work Out At The Park.

I like the bench step aerobics idea, but not sure if I could manage even one of the monkey bar chin-ups!

For sure I couldn’t do the chin-up. Those blasted things kept me from the Presidential Fitness award every year in gym class.

I like these ideas, and will try to go to the park in tennis shoes rather than the flip flops I’ve been wearing. Not so great for exercising!

I loved this article because that is how I live–always trying to find a way to squeeze in a workout. You don’t have to go to the gym, you don’t have to get up at 5 a.m., you don’t have to sweat for 2 hours to make a workout “count.” And not only are these park workouts quality time for the kids, but by working out in front of your children you get to be a good role model for their own fitness.
