With one photo I am simultaneously intrigued, impressed and grossed out.

How’d they do that?
You simply stick dry spaghetti noodles through the hot dogs and then boil them.
Simple. Genius!

Kids love spaghetti.

Kids love hot dogs.

But seeing the spaghetti squirm out the hot dogs is sooo.. wormy.

So….Fuzzy Pumper Barber Shop.

What do you think? Will this be on your table tonight?

That looks disgusting…And yet…intriguing all in the same breathe!

I would love to test it out - however, my kids refuse to eat spaghetti noodles! So far, the only ‘pasta’ I can get them to eat are Ramen noodles! oh well - at least their cheap right!
;)

When I was young, my friends cleaning lady would make us macaroni and cheese with octopus hot dogs on it. She sliced the hot dog the long way to make the legs. Now there’s a kitchen contraption that does the cutting for you.

This looks kind of fun. I might have to try it on my son.

Wow, that’s interesting…. I had to do a double take to figure out what that was. :) I may try it just to see their faces!

While my son will eat just about anything, I think he would get a kick out of seeing that on his plate, and I think I would love it too (add some butter and salt and I would be good to go). I think I will try it this week!

That’s pretty cool. I wonder how it would work with other foods - I imagine most vegetables that you could push the spaghetti through (zucchini, bell peppers, mushrooms) would disintegrate when you boil them that long, but it would be fun to try.

I saw this recently on another blog and thought it was crazy!!! I don’t have a clue how my 3 year old would respond, he might be scared of it… I certainly am! :)

Nope. Couldn’t do it. The resemblance to my dog’s poop during his bout with worms is way too close. Can’t eat bean sprouts anymore, either. (Same reason.)

Cool. I think my daughter and most of the kids I know would love it!

OK – so I’m a freak – but I made some last night.
Had hot dogs.
Had spaghetti.
Why not?
Creepy, creepy, creepy!
Ugh! Reminded me of the close up cross section of skin in the World Book Encyclopedia – the spaghetti was either the veins or the hair follicles. You choose.
Ben, bless his heart, was very polite. He took the freaky dogs, set them aside and said.
“Mama, I think I’ll just save these for breakfast tomorrow”
as in “No way am I going to eat these you crazy lady.”

My kid loves both of those things so much, I am certain he would eat it. But, it will have to wait a few years, because I am a freak about hot dogs and choking, so all hot dogs are quartered lengthwise before they hit his plate. I don’t think they’d hold the noodles that well…

Okay - We made this tonight. My kids loved them - I called them alien hot dogs. I took pictures and I’ll post them on my blog this weekend. :)

Kay I laughed right out loud at Ben’s polite way of saying he wasn’t gonna eat these! Save them for breakfast? THAT is a classic and I hope you wrote it down!
LOVE IT!
Haven’t gotten myself talked into trying this yet…

Hey Darcie, yes I did indeed write it down. I just recently started keeping a list of “Benjaminisms”

You know I was thinking this recipe would work with the very obvious “meatball” too and might not seem so creepy.
