Even though it may feel like an eternity; you’re in maternity clothes for such a short time, why spend a fortune on a new wardrobe?
Or do you have a closet full of nice maternity clothes you are never going to wear again? Here’s you opportunity to cash in!

John Ewoldt shares info on consignment stores that focus on dressing the growing belly. Check out these stores that John profiled in his Dollars & Sense column.

Bellies to Babies (6638 Penn Av. S., 612-869-0164)
(Plus Bellies to Babies has special occasion dress rental! Genius. I sure could have used that when I was pregnant instead of spending my money on a dress I wore once!)

And

Nine (5456 Nicollet Av. S., 612-827-8144)

You can read his article here and learn about more about other consignment shops that feature maternity clothes.

What are/were some of your maternity clothes favorites or staples? And where did you shop?

I’d still be wearing my Gap maternity jeans if wearing maternity clothes 3 years after having your last baby weren’t societally frowned upon. So comfy. So worth the splurge ($60?) although I’m sure there are cheaper ways to get the same thing now.

The Turnstyle consignment store at Highland Village also has 2nd hand maternity clothes. NuLook in Edina also had them 3 years ago.

I donated all of my maturnity cloths to good will. It got it out of the house with no added hassle plus you get a tax deduction.

I still get nostalgic walking past Liz Lange at Target and Mimi Maternity. The thought of wearing clothes when your tummy is SUPPOSED to stick out is so, so appealing.

I actually have a maternity dress in the closet I never wore. I never had the shoes to match, and now it’s just there, the total sign of my utter embarassment

I had great luck at Clothes Mentor. They are a great Consignment shop with good brands and have Lots of maternity!!! My office has a nice circle of moms and we have passed clothes around quite a bit.

I know the owner of Bellies to Babies, love her store! I’m not having any more kids, but I brought all my maternity clothes to her. Anything she can’t use she’ll donate to a shelter. She also takes baby clothes 0-9 months, so I got rid of a lot of stuff that way too. There’s a cute little kid corner, so if you go there with your kids they can be entertained while you shop or sell.
