Way to go, Kay!
Should I even post this? Do I really want anyone to actually witness this TV interview debut?
OK - I will let you know - because I want friendly and forgiving viewers like Cribsheeters out there. I will be on Twin Cities Live on KSTP (Channel 5) at 3 pm today talking about parenting blogs that have recently evolved into books. May will be on a reporting assignment this afternoon, so it will just be me without my blogging better half. I’m so accustomed to being a part of the dynamic diaper duo - wish me luck on my own!
(gulp.)

For you old school Sesamephiles like myself - this new book Street Gang looks like must read material. It’s the behind the scenes and under the fur look at Sesame Street’s beginnings and evolution through the decades. You can read the review from the NYT here - or if you picked up last weeks People (featuring Matt Logelin) profiled the book as well.

And tune in to Scrubs this evening. I hear the Sesame Street Muppets are making a guest appearance on t to teach the folks at Sacred Heart a thing or two about compassion.
A day to do things I can’t normally do on a normal Monday morning.
Sleep in. Well, sort of. Is 7 am truly sleeping in? I’ll take it.
And watch some good old PBS kids morning shows with my kids.
Martha Speaks? Not so interested.
Sid the Science Kid. Most excellent. Ben was captivated, excited, and turned to me and said - “I want to do that!” when Sid and friends looked at bugs under a magnifying glass.
Here was Neal Justin’s article that I read after I saw the show. I didn’t realize they were using such innovative animation.
You can read the article here.
Anyone else catch the morning marathon of shows? What did you do for Labor Day?
Just as the Beijing Olympics lured me to the sports pages, the Democratic National Convention’s got me watching politics on TV, something I never do.
How could anybody not be moved, riveted, hooked by the drama unfolding in the convention center in Denver? Even my four-year-old looked up from her book of cartoons when Michelle Obama brought Sasha and Malia out on stage with her and they began talking to their dad on the big screen. And that look on Chelsea Clinton’s face, looking up at her mother on stage last night, ever the loyal daughter, was enough to break your heart.
Here’s Mom101’s take.
