Recycle Minnesota is offering reduced priced compost bins & rain barrels to be purchased online or by mail then picked up at the Living Green Expo on May 2-3 at the State Fair Grandstand. To see photos and costs go to the site on the right hand column. Orders can be placed while supplies last or until March 27, whichever comes first.

The compost bin (42-inches by 42-inches by 30-inches), made of 12 gauge, PVC coated wire, is $47, regularly $80. The 55-gallon rain barrel (32-inches by 54-inches), which collects rain from gutters for garden use, is $65, regularly $115.

The Living Green Expo is a free event which will also include free workshops on composting, using rain barrels and 60 other topics. Rain barrels or composters can be picked up by car in the ”drive through” behind the Grandstand before or after parking for the Expo.

If you miss out on these rain barrels, or want the fun of building your own (at a slightly cheaper cost), check out our informative rain barrel building guide at:

We’ve done several demos around the Twin Cities. The website also includes a detailed parts list, downloadable directions, a rainfall collection calculator, safety issues, and more.

Happy watering this summer!

Interesting points! I was actually thinking about this topic last night and this morning (particularly how to incorporate it into my own blog). Thanks for the tips, bro!
