Southwest Airlines announced today that they will start flying from MSP to Chicago Midway in March 2009.
I’ve been begging readers for years to fly competitors when you can, so the Twin Cities remains as competitive as possible. If Northwest devotees cling tightly to their hub, it drives away excellent competitors such as Sun Country.

Honestly, unless you’re a Northwest employee or a relative of one, you’re making all of us pay higher fares through a lack of competition. More competition is always better for the consumer.
