The Gophers women’s soccer team is 8-0, but it has played a relatively easy schedule. So tonight’s game will be interesting.
The U, one of only 12 unbeaten and untied teams left, plays Brown at 7 p.m. at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium in St. Paul.
Brown is only 2-1-1, but the tie was with then No. 1-ranked UCLA. One of Brown’s two wins was over then No. 11 Penn State.
So if the Gophers can beat Brown that would say a lot. Brown goalie Brenna Hogue had 18 saves in a 1-0 victory over the Nittany Lions. She leads the nation with an average of 11.75 saves per game. Her save percentage is .922, 15th in the nation.
